Comparison

Assembly (formerly Copilot) vs Client Glance

Assembly is a client workspace with billing. Client Glance shows your ClickUp work. Here's what each one puts in front of a client.

Copilot renamed itself Assembly on 30 September 2025. Its ClickUp app embeds a ClickUp public link inside the portal, and Assembly's own docs say ClickUp only allows view-only embeds. Because ClickUp won't share a Dashboard by public link, an Assembly client never sees a ClickUp Dashboard. Client Glance reads your ClickUp lists over OAuth and draws its own cards, from $20 a month for 5 portals.

Assembly's ClickUp app is a framed public link

Setup is 2 steps. Turn on ClickUp's public link for a Space or a Doc, then paste it into Assembly's ClickUp app. You can use one embed for every client, or a different one per client. Either way, they see ClickUp's own screen, with its sidebar and its words, framed inside your portal.

Your client signs in to Assembly, but the ClickUp link underneath has no password in ClickUp's docs. Forward it, and it opens for whoever has it. And since ClickUp Dashboards can't be shared by public link at all, charts, time reports and workload cards stay out of reach.

The other route is Zapier, which lists an Assembly and ClickUp integration. That copies records between the 2 tools, so each update lives in 2 places.

Assembly is stronger on billing

Assembly puts messages, invoices, payments, contracts and files behind one client login, and it sells an AI app builder metered in build credits. Client Glance has none of that. If your project work isn't in ClickUp, or clients mostly need to pay and sign, Assembly covers more.

You can run both: invoices and contracts from Assembly, the Glance link for project status.

Which one to pick

Pick Assembly if

  • Clients need to pay invoices and sign contracts where they log in.
  • Your project work isn't in ClickUp.

Pick Client Glance if

  • Your client work lives in ClickUp, and clients should see it without a ClickUp screen.
  • You want progress, time and budget cards, which a public link can't carry.
  • You want a password on what the client sees.
