Best Client Portal Software: 8 Tools, Prices and ClickUp Support

9 min read

Most lists of the best client portal software come from a vendor on the list. This one does too. We make Client Glance. We read every price below on the vendor’s own pricing page on 7 October 2026, and each section says where that tool beats ours.

If your agency runs in ClickUp, look at 2 columns first: starting price and ClickUp support.

1. Client Glance: portals built from your ClickUp lists

Pick Client Glance if your agency already runs every client project in ClickUp.

You connect ClickUp, pick the list or folder that holds a client’s work, choose the cards they see, and share a password-protected link. You’ll have the portal live in about a minute. We sync with ClickUp in real time. Move a task and the client sees it move on the portal. Clients never get a ClickUp seat and never see your workspace.

You choose what each client sees: status and deliverables, time and budget, requests, messages and documents. When a client sends a request or feedback from the portal, it lands in your ClickUp workflow instead of your inbox.

Starter costs $20 a month for 5 portals ($16 billed yearly). Pro costs $55 for 20, and Agency costs $139 for 100 with white-label portals and custom domains. You get the first 14 days on Pro with no credit card.

Where we lose: we only work with ClickUp, so an Asana or Monday team should skip us. We don’t do proposals, contracts or payments. We have no free plan.

2. Softr: build your own portal on ClickUp data

Pick Softr if you want to design the portal yourself and have time to set it up.

Softr calls itself “the AI app builder for business operations”. To connect, you add ClickUp as a data source, sign in, pick the workspace, space, folder and list, then build the screens. Softr says its ClickUp sync runs both ways in real time and doesn’t copy or cache your data.

Softr beats us when you need ClickUp and other data sources in one app. You can also stay on its free plan forever. Paid plans start at $19 a month.

In Softr, every layout, filter and permission is yours to set up. Softr caps app users on every plan, and you pay add-on fees past the cap.

3. SuiteDash: CRM, billing and portal in one

Pick SuiteDash if a small business wants CRM, invoicing, projects and a portal in one place.

SuiteDash covers CRM, client portal, project management, invoicing and scheduling, with unlimited clients and staff on every plan. Its homepage calls it the “Swiss Army Knife” of business software.

For $19 a month, you get more modules from SuiteDash than from us. Plans cost $19, $49 and $99 a month. You can white-label the portal and the mobile app, and you can bill clients, swap files and build forms without another tool. You get a 14-day trial with no card.

For a ClickUp agency, you’d run 2 project tools or move your team off ClickUp. We found no ClickUp connection on SuiteDash’s site.

4. Assembly (formerly Copilot): portal plus payments

Pick Assembly if you want clients to pay, sign and onboard in the same portal.

Copilot renamed itself Assembly on 30 September 2025. Assembly adds payments, intake forms, a document collector, a proposal builder with e-sign and an AI app builder to its client portal.

Assembly beats us on money and paperwork: your client can sign a proposal and pay an invoice where they log in. The free plan covers your first 5 active contacts and 1 internal user. Starter costs $29 a month billed yearly, or $49 billed monthly.

Assembly’s ClickUp doc says ClickUp only allows view-only embeds, so you paste a public ClickUp share link and your client sees that view inside Assembly. Professional includes 3 internal users and Advanced includes 5.

5. Content Snare: collect files and content from clients

Pick Content Snare if your projects stall while you wait on clients for copy, logins and files.

In Content Snare, you send a client a structured request, and it sends SMS reminders until they fill it in.

For collecting assets, we’d send you to Content Snare before us. You can create ClickUp tasks from a filled-in form through Zapier or Make, and Zapier comes on every plan. Basic costs $35 a month billed yearly ($42 monthly), with a 14-day trial.

Content Snare collects from clients. Your client can’t check project status there. Basic caps you at 20 active requests and 2 users, so a month with many launches can push you up a tier.

6. CoordinateHQ: onboarding and approvals, outside ClickUp

Pick CoordinateHQ if you run structured client onboarding with sign-offs and you’re ready to leave ClickUp.

CoordinateHQ calls itself a “Project Execution OS” for client-facing businesses. You share project plans with clients, send branded forms that feed your workflow, and collect approvals.

CoordinateHQ beats us on client headcount. Your clients are always free and unlimited. You pay $10 per team member a month billed yearly ($15 monthly).

CoordinateHQ replaces ClickUp instead of sitting on top of it. Its own ClickUp comparison says ClickUp “wasn’t built with client collaboration in mind”, and we found no ClickUp integration named on its site. White-labeling shows up only under Enterprise.

7. LaunchBay: file requests, approvals and invoices

Pick LaunchBay if you want file requests, approvals and invoices in one client-facing place.

LaunchBay calls itself “the client collaboration platform for professional services teams”. You track file and document requests item by item, build intake forms with conditional logic, and send invoices on every plan.

LaunchBay beats us on billing and file requests. Essentials costs $19 per team member a month billed yearly ($29 monthly).

Your bill grows with your team, and Premium needs at least 3 members. You only get the white-labeled portal on Premium. ClickUp isn’t named on LaunchBay’s site, and Zapier starts on Standard.

8. ClickUp guest access: free read-only guests on paid plans

Pick guest access if your client already knows ClickUp and edits tasks with you every day.

You invite the client as a guest and share the lists they need. You don’t buy another tool.

ClickUp’s paid plans include unlimited read-only guests, and Unlimited starts at $7 per user a month billed yearly. A client who works in your tasks daily saves a step by staying in ClickUp with you.

Guests land in your workspace, in an interface built for your team. A guest who needs more than read-only uses a limited guest seat: 5 for a 1-user Unlimited workspace, plus 2 per extra paid user. On Free Forever, guests get full create and edit rights, and you can’t change that. To move a client from a guest seat to a portal, follow the 5 steps in ClickUp guest access vs a client portal.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best client portal software? For an agency that runs in ClickUp, Client Glance: you get a live portal per client in about a minute, and clients never take a ClickUp seat. For CRM, invoicing and a portal in one tool, pick SuiteDash or Assembly. For file collection, pick Content Snare.

Which client portal software works with ClickUp? When you move a task in ClickUp, Client Glance shows the change on the client’s portal in real time. Softr has a native 2-way sync, but you build the app. In Assembly you can embed a public ClickUp link, view-only. Content Snare connects through Zapier or Make.

Is there free client portal software? Softr and Assembly have free plans. ClickUp’s paid plans include unlimited read-only guests. Client Glance has no free plan, but you get 14 days of Pro with no credit card.

Can clients use a portal without a ClickUp account? Yes. Client Glance clients open a password-protected link and never sign in to ClickUp. Guest access is the opposite: it puts clients inside your workspace, and no other tool here does.

Build the first portal before the next status email.

Connect ClickUp, pick the colors, share the link. The client is reading their project a minute later.

We install Glance with you on a call. The setup is free and so is the first month.
